Barred reporters from the White House

Where it standsStopped by courtsU.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly ordered access restored on Sept 24, 2026, finding the passes were revoked without constitutionally adequate due process. The reporters returned that afternoon.

Barred CNN, MS NOW, and Politico reporters from the White House over their coverage and revoked their press passes, shutting them out on the day of Xi Jinping's state visit. In a rare joint statement, ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC refused to replace CNN's White House pool crew in protest.
