Where it standsIn effectOn Sept 24, 2026, the Senate rejected a resolution to end U.S. military action against Iran, 49 to 50. Four Republicans voted with Democrats; one Democrat voted against.

Launched strikes on Iran alongside Israel without congressional authorization, setting off a regional war. An April ceasefire and a June agreement collapsed, and U.S. strikes resumed.
